Donating Cars To Charity Provides Another Way to Give
Charities are seeing the effects of the recent economy struggles we have been facing in the United States. There are more people in need and less people donating. Money is tight and unfortunately individuals who perhaps once donated $1,000.00 a year no longer can because they have lost their jobs. Our nation's unemployment rate is over 10%, the highest since the early 1980's so not only are families and businesses struggling, so are many charities. Charity organizations rely heavily on cash donations. There are other ways to give, donating cars to charity is just one of many options.
If an individual or family is unable to make a cash donation, an old car can be donated to a local charity. Perhaps the children are out of high school and off to college, and the good second hand "spare" car can now help others. There is a tax advantage to the tax filer, and the charity receives property to sell or use for the operation of their organization.
Not only can an old car be donated, boats, RV's and other licensed vehicles can be donated for the tax benefit. Depending on the charity, any drivable or tow-able motorized vehicle will be considered for donation. You will find donating cars to charity is a very easy and simple process.
Another thing to donate is time. Check with charities to see if there is something non-monetary you can do to give. Working on a volunteer basis is rewarding, and serving others is what we are supposed to do.
